Hello friends and ramen lovers,
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who came out to our inaugural Ramen Rager fundraiser at Wonderville! We also want to extend a giant dose of gratitude to everyone who donated to this fundraiser; we couldn’t have done it without you! Teamwork really does make the dream work. Jenn and I are beyond grateful for everyone who showed up to support our podcast, especially the out-of-towners! We also want to acknowledge Jason for being the best bartender ever and Jordan for engineering the afternoon. After expenses and admin, we netted upwards of $500, which will go towards hosting fees through the end of the year and brand new microphones, hooray! Please enjoy the photos taken by our friend Jeannie Houchins.
From the ultimate chef toppings bar to the true myriad of ramen flavors and the delight of all the diners, this event was a huge success. Highlights include everyone pausing to see the “correct way” to enjoy ramen according to Tampopo, the joy of the perfectly cooked sous vide eggs, and the fact that everyone went up for seconds and thirds because the ramen was just THAT GOOD. Movie trivia brought together teams of all ages, and our questions proved to be more than a little difficult. The winners only scored 50%, hahaha!
Season 2 of The Cinema Chefs is in full swing, and we encourage you to listen wherever you find your favorite podcasts. This season we explore New Orleans cuisine in The Last Holiday, school lunches in The Breakfast Club, and the joys of Hanwoo beef in the instant classic, Parasite. Our production costs have been out of pocket so far. To keep the podcast available on all platforms, we pay a monthly hosting fee on Simplecast as well as a membership to our recording platform, Riverside. Please consider becoming a subscriber here on Fourthwall, buying some merch, or making a donation (at the bottom of the page here).
See you at the movies!
Sincerely,
Clara and Jenn
